Travels Through East Vancouver

Viaduct is:

Eliza M. Adam: Long-time east side resident, radical, writer, musician, union activist and worker. Unless otherwise noted, all photographs on this site are from her camera.

Brian Green: Parent, sometimes-academic union worker, bad folk-singer, worse guitar-player. Take a union rep who hates unions and an academic who hates academia, add in a healthy disdain for work mixed with a less-healthy drive to over-achievement, living in East Van most of his life. Well, it’s a start.

  1. Hi Guys,

I’m considering spending a few months in the Commercial Drive area, and I was wondering if you knew of any Bars/Pubs or Places to Eat that I should check out. Basically where can I hook up with some fun outgoing people? I could use all the area knowledge I can get! You seem pretty involved in the community, and I would really appreciate your input.

    Thanks a lot,

    Buddy Smith

  2. Wondering if you would like to link up Carnegie Association’s project CCAP blog to yours. The Association is operated by a Board of Directors of the independent Carnegie Community Centre Association, which has about 6000 members and has agreements with the City of Vancouver in the operation of the Carnegie Community Centre.

  3. My name is Dennis. My Mother was one of the Militants Mothers Of Raymur (Siegrun Meszaros). I was 5 yrs old in 1970 and I remember darting through the stationary train cars many times. I also remember my father running all the way down from the 12th floor and pulling me off one of those cars before it progressed to its destination. I would like to say to the other mothers the same thing I said to my mother….THANKS….because of there strong will of getting that overpass I may not have been here today. THANKS AGAIN
